Dark Mofo returns in full for 2025 with an ambitious art and music program, alongside Dark Mofo rituals Winter Feast, the Ogoh-Ogoh, Night Mass and the Nude Solstice Swim. Southern Tasmanian Dancing Eisteddfod

The Southern Tasmanian Dancing Eisteddfod will commence on Friday 4th July and run until Saturday 12th July 2025 at . The event will showcase a full program running across the nine days,with three sessions… every day and is the largest Eisteddfod in the Southern Hemisphere. There is something there to suit everyone with all genres, including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary/neo, character, song and dance and hip hop categories. There are two amazing adjudicators this year including Darren Disney, who is one of the original Tap Dogs and has performed live around the world, and also the extremely talented Kylie Norris, who is from Auckland NZ. The Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival is a two-weekend celebration of classical music, set in some of the state’s most atmospheric venues. The Point To Pinnacle – 2025

Known as the world’s toughest half marathon, the Point to Pinnacle returns on 16 November 2025. This iconic race takes runners and walkers on a gruelling 21.1 km journey from Wrest Point to the summit… of kunanyi/Mount Wellington, climbing 1,271 metres in elevation. It is a true test of physical and mental endurance. Organised by the Point to Pinnacle Committee, the event celebrates determination, community spirit and resilience. It also supports a range of charities, combining fitness with a meaningful cause.

President of… Dark Sky Tasmania Lachlan Bannister will speak on the psychology of candlelight and the goal of preserving and protecting Tasmania’s wondrous night sky. The humble candle, once an important provider of illumination to our evenings, has today become a symbol for romance and, at times, a reminder of our heavy reliance on electricity. However, the history of the candle holds some key learnings about our relationship to light as humans. It can also teach us a lot about our relationship to our nocturnal environment. This talk is designed to get you thinking about your relationship to light, the impacts this can have on the environment and our health, and how the power of a candle might help us achieve a brighter future.

Will the neighbours get wise and snitch to the cops? Are the creatures in the woods behind the mansion a worry? Will Kanye return? Alone with his thoughts, John finds himself becoming more paranoid each day and begins asking where he fits into the world, reflecting on past adventures and wondering whether he went too far. John Safran is a writer and filmmaker whose past work has taken him face to face with killers, Klansmen and satanists taking readers and viewers along for the ride.
