Ogee – A Neighbourhood Gem in North Hobart
Tucked away on a quiet corner just outside the bustle of North Hobart, Ogee is a small, soulful space where great food, great wine, and great company meet. With just 28 seats and the warm, timeless feel of a European bistro, Ogee invites you to slow down and savour the simple things done exceptionally well.
Led by chef Matt Breen and sommelier Rachelle Guastella, Ogee takes inspiration from Tasmania’s finest local produce alongside French and Italian traditions, creating a menu that’s humble, seasonal, and full of heart. House-made pastas, elegant bar snacks, and thoughtful share plates are paired with a curated list of lo-fi wines and classic cocktails, all served with warmth and easygoing charm.
The open kitchen and central wooden island set the scene — watch the team work their magic while vinyl spins on the turntable, the air rich with the smell of good food and the buzz of happy conversation. From crispy pan-fried snapper to gnocchetti sardi with lamb ragu, every dish tells a story of passion, produce, and quiet craftsmanship.
Open Sunday lunch from 12pm (reservations recommended) or walk in any evening Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm.
